Halite with Gypsum, variety Selenite

A very aesthetic example of the intergrowth of two often prosaic evaporite minerals, with a core of large colourless halite cubes overgrown by two generations of selenite. The first was a robust group of translucent colourless prisms forming a crown at the top of the specimen, the second generation, yellow-orange transparent crystals fringing both the earlier selenites and the halite.
