Zeolites are an interesting group of minerals, as they all have water as an integral part of their crystal structure. Heated over a flame, the water is liberated, bubbling off into the air. Zeolites also have important industrial applications in water softening and filtration. Some zeolites, however, are just too pretty to torch, or to pulverize into a water filter.
